Plum School District advertises O'Block Elementary construction; middle school HVAC work advancing

The Plum Borough School District Board of Education meeting on Sept. 23 included an update that the O'Block Elementary construction project has been advertised and will move to competitive bidding.
Doctor Anderson, speaking as a district official at the meeting, said the district and its project managers (HDG and Echols) advertised the O'Block project on Sept. 11 and scheduled a site tour for prospective bidders on Friday, Sept. 26. Bids are due Oct. 7 at 1 p.m., and the administration will review bids and alternates and make a recommendation to the board at its Oct. 14 discussion meeting, Anderson said.
The board also heard progress updates on work at Plum Middle School. Doctor Anderson reported that HVAC control work in classrooms is complete, a dust collector has been set in place, and work on windows and doors will begin shortly.
Board members thanked the administration and the facilities department for their work on the projects. The district did not release bid documents, the expected contract award date, or cost estimates at the Sept. 23 meeting.
No formal board action on awards or contracts for O'Block was recorded at the Sept. 23 action meeting; the administration plans to return with a recommendation after bids are opened and reviewed.
