The Marple Newtown School Board voted on Sept. 24 to approve the district's proposed 2025-26 academic calendar after a public comment period during which parents urged the board to keep a post–Labor Day start.
Parents Lindsey Steger and Victoria Petzena told the board they preferred calendars that begin after Labor Day and asked the district to repeat a community survey before making a long-term change. Steger said a 2022 survey showed about 74% of parents favored a post–Labor Day start, and Petzena referenced roughly 980 family responses to that earlier poll.
