Valerie Cook Henry, education committee chair, read the personnel report and identified a retirement on the agenda. "She's been with us since 08/01/2023. Her effective date is 02/07/2026," Cook Henry said of Angela Rice, whose role was described in the meeting as a district staff member. The personnel report otherwise listed resignations, appointments, changes in assignment and leaves of absence; the meeting record indicates no salary adjustments or miscellaneous personnel items were reported.
The committee also read a community relations item — the Penwood High School annual college and career fair — and the budget and finance agenda, which included the treasurer's report. Policy Committee chair Debtte Roberts read four policy items that were put forward for the district's business meeting: "Policy 1 13 42" (as read), Policy 202 (eligibility of nonresidents), Policy 237 (electronic devices) and Policy 254 (educational opportunities for military children). The property committee reported no items for the evening.
Board members answered roll call and the meeting record shows no public comments were submitted. The committee adjourned after confirming there were no hands raised online or in the room. The next scheduled board meeting is Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m., as stated at the close of the session.
