Norwin Board approves agenda additions and personnel motion; several consent moves added to legislative meeting

At its meeting this evening, the Norwin Board of Education approved a series of motions to add items from the education, policy, finance, personnel, facilities and athletics agendas to the upcoming legislative meeting and approved one personnel action by voice vote.

The board moved the following agenda additions to the legislative meeting: education items 1–7; policy items 1–8 (five revised policies and three retirements listed for first reading); finance items 1–9; facilities and support services items 1–2; and athletics and activities items 1–2. Board members voiced seconds for several motions (for example, "Second, Shrum" and "Second, Perverso" are recorded), and the chair called for voice assent to add the items.

On personnel, the board approved personnel item number 1 after a motion and a second. The chair called for an aye/oppose voice vote; the minutes record “Aye” and the chair said, “Motion passes.” Later the board moved personnel items 3–9 to the legislative meeting agenda.

Other routine business included a report that the Wilkinsburg Intermunicipal Unit (WIU) took a revenue anticipation loan and a notice that the board will consider consolidating October and November workshop and voting meetings into a single combined meeting at a future vote.
