The consent items encompassed board meeting minutes, financial statements and check listings, conference requests, out-of-state overnight field trips, personnel items, disposal of obsolete equipment, multiple policy adoptions and first readings, a resolution to authorize issuance of bonds, two memoranda of understanding and confidential settlement and release agreements. The motion carried after a voice vote.
The consent agenda listed specific policy actions, including third reading and final adoption of Policy 102 (Academic Standards), Policy 105 (Curriculum) and two related federal programs policies described as federal fiscal compliance and travel reimbursement for federal programs; and first readings of policy updates including diabetes management and policies addressing tobacco/vaping products, conflict of interest and municipal government relations. A resolution authorizing the issuance of bonds was included among the consent items. Two memoranda of understanding with district support associations were also part of the consent package.
A separate action discussion item to approve fall 2025 community education instructors (personnel items) was brought forward and approved. A board member identified an apparent conflict and abstained: "I'm abstaining from this vote," the board member said after noting that a relative (Mrs. Wheeler's daughter) was listed as an instructor. The remainder of the board voted in favor and the motion carried.
