Williamsport City Council on Sept. 4 approved a series of ordinances, contracts and resolutions, voting unanimously (6-0) on each recorded item.
The council approved the minutes from the Aug. 7 meeting and advanced two zoning ordinances: a repeal-and-reenact of residential rules (second and final reading) and a separate repeal-and-reenact of industrial and commercial rules (second and final reading). It also approved a resolution authorizing city consent for tax-exempt conduit financing facilitated by the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Lackawanna for projects owned by the Diocese of Scranton; a correction to a Susquehanna Riverwalk easement alignment; and several construction awards, including the 2025 streets paving contract and the Bowman Field outfield wall replacement.
Other approved actions included a contract for ceiling-tile work at fire headquarters, multiple certificates of appropriateness from the Historic Architectural Review, and acceptance of several departmental reports for filing. The council announced a planned executive session after the meeting to discuss legal matters.
