Clinton County selects three projects for CDBG funding applications totaling $237,734

The Clinton County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 4 approved the county's selection of three projects to advance funding applications through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program administered by the Clinton County Redevelopment Authority.
Jamie (Clinton County Redevelopment Authority staff) told the board the county received four proposals for CDBG funding. The proposals were for: phase 2 of blight remediation (Clinton County Redevelopment Authority) in Renovo; removal of architectural barriers (curb ramps/sidewalk) in Flemington Borough ($72,600); removal of architectural barriers in Mill Hall Borough ($65,034); and Fourth Street rehabilitation in the borough of Renova (amount not funded). Jamie said eligibility and fundability reviews indicated the best use of the available $237,734 (of which $42,100 was set aside for administration) was to fund the blight remediation phase 2 and the curb ramp projects in Flemington and Mill Hall.
"They were all good projects. Unfortunately, we just can't fund everything every year," Jamie said. The board moved, seconded, and approved the slate of projects recommended by staff by voice vote.
The action authorizes staff to proceed with the CDBG applications through the Clinton County Redevelopment Authority. Jamie and the commissioners did not provide a full funding schedule or construction timeline for the selected projects at the Sept. 4 meeting.
The Fourth Street rehabilitation proposal in Renova was reviewed but not funded with available 2025 CDBG dollars, per Jamie's presentation.
