The request: County staff read the rezoning notice: the application sought to rezone 38.48 acres from AG to RS-1 for single-family, half-acre minimum lots. The planning commission had previously voted 6-2 in favor of recommending approval at its June 18, 2025 meeting, staff said.
Public comment: Neighbors who live directly across the street urged the commission to maintain agricultural zoning or otherwise ensure the development matches the area's rural character.
