Board of Appeals signs three variance orders in consent-style votes; minutes approved

Following the public hearing on the Richard property variance, the St. Mary's County Board of Appeals approved several orders previously decided at past hearings and approved the August 28 meeting minutes.
The board voted 5-0 to sign the written order for the Heinz property variance, which reduced the required setback between a principal and accessory structure to permit an in-ground pool (order to be signed with clerical corrections provided by county counsel). The board also voted 5-0 to sign the Buyers/Neville property order granting a variance to exceed lot coverage for a porch and the Liquor property order granting a variance to exceed lot coverage for a new dwelling with deck, patio and parking pad; those orders likewise will be signed with counsel-provided corrections.
Members approved the August 28 Board of Appeals minutes as written. Board members confirmed scheduling and availability for upcoming hearings, and staff notified the board of a pending appeal with potential jurisdictional motion hearings in November and a merits hearing tentatively set for Dec. 11 if the case advances.
All signings were moved and seconded on the record and carried unanimously. Corrections mentioned by counsel were described as clerical and will be incorporated prior to final signature.
