Town Treasurer Sharon K. told the Leonardtown Town Council that auditors completed a review with no outstanding questions and that the town’s fiscal statements show improved results for fiscal year 2025. "We’re gonna see about a $160,000 increase on our budgetary statements and fund balance," Sharon K. said.
She told the council the town received its last income tax payment for fiscal year 2025 and that income tax receipts exceeded budget by about $132,000. Property tax receipts were also above budget, by roughly $27,000 to $28,000, she said.
Sharon K. said her objective is to complete the statements and deliver them to auditors for final review so the town can file the fiscal statements by the end of the month. Council members responded positively to the report and offered no corrections during the meeting.
The treasurer’s report was presented early in the meeting and framed as a routine fiscal update; the transcript does not include additional line‑item detail or the auditors’ written findings.
