The Village of Tivoli Board of Trustees voted to increase the seasonal municipal parking permit fee from $25 to $35.
During the meeting, the mayor said the change was intended to keep permit fees lower than the overnight-street-parking ticket penalty and asked residents who lack adequate off-street parking to get permits at the clerk’s office. The board discussed the village snow ordinance and the seasonal enforcement window, noted in the meeting as November 15 to April 1.
The board chair asked for a motion to pass the resolution “increasing the cost” of seasonal permits; a second was recorded and the roll call produced unanimous “aye” responses.
Deputy Mayor Schilling and village staff were asked to continue directing residents to the clerk’s office for permits and help residents who need assistance obtaining one. The trustees emphasized that obtaining a permit is less expensive than the fine for overnight street parking during the enforcement period.
The resolution does not include an effective date in the meeting record; the board instructed staff to publish details and update the clerk’s desk procedures.
