The Village of Villa Park awarded the 2025 Parkway Tree Planting Program contract to The Fields of Canton, Inc. for $40,170 at the Sept. 8 meeting.
Village Manager Ryan Rivas said the project was publicly advertised and the village received five bids for delivery and planting of 130 assorted parkway trees; The Fields of Canton was the lowest responsive bidder. Trustees approved the resolution by roll call vote; STAC recommended approval.
Trustee Kumar said he welcomed the variety of species included in the program. Staff said planting locations are distributed across the village and planting will follow standard parkway spacing and species guidelines. The contract includes delivery and planting; warranty terms for newly planted trees were discussed in the broader landscaping conversation during the meeting.
Staff will coordinate planting schedules and notify trustees and the public of planting blocks as crews begin work.
