The School Town of Munster administration presented a Seclusion and Restraint Handbook to the board for public review and to document compliance with Indiana code.
Ms. Bergman explained the handbook was developed collaboratively by the assistant director, exceptional achiever coordinators and social workers to provide staff a reference and to ensure compliance with Indiana code. “This is just a review so that it becomes public knowledge that we have this handbook,” Bergman said. She added the handbook had been reviewed by counsel and that no board action was required at this meeting. Board members asked no questions during the agenda item and the presentation concluded with the statement that the board had reviewed it.
The item was informational; the transcript did not show a motion or vote on adoption during the meeting.
