Nicole Derusha, elementary coordinator and youth and community outreach director at Faith Church, said Faith Kids — the church’s nursery-through-sixth-grade program — runs an annual summer fundraiser called a “fun run.” “We were able to, for Elliot, almost $1,800,” Derusha said, explaining the summer event included activities such as foam pits and bounce houses and that each Faith Church location selected a local elementary school as the recipient this year.
Ms. Harold introduced representatives from Faith Church who were present at the meeting. Board members acknowledged the donation during the consent-agenda presentation and recognized several other donations listed on the consent agenda, including an anonymous $500 donation to Eads Elementary and a $3,000 donation from the Booster Club to the bowling club.
The board’s consent agenda, which included the Faith Church donation among other routine items, was approved by a 5-0 vote.
