Historic board approves several certificates of appropriateness, tables two projects and records a withdrawal

The Madison Historic District Board of Review handled a batch of routine and mid-size applications at its September meeting, approving certificates of appropriateness for several exterior projects, tabling two applications at the applicants' request, and noting one withdrawal and one incomplete application.

Among the actions the board approved were two mobile-home replacements submitted by Amy Cox, chimney removal for a non‑original side chimney at 307 East Fourth Street, replacement of windows and enclosure work at 917 West Second Street, restoration of original garage doors at 1203 West Main Street, porch and carport work at 1145 West Second Street, a rear-porch enclosure for 422 Walnut and a front-door relocation at 1211 West Main Street. The board tabled applications for 123 Jefferson Street and 111 East Fourth Street to a later meeting; the application for Rodney Pettit was withdrawn.
