Price City accepts donation of undeveloped parcel from North Park Estates

The Price City Council voted to accept a donation of real property from North Park Estates during its Sept. 24 meeting, and authorized staff to pay transitional title and closing costs estimated at $500 or less.
Nick (staff member) introduced the item and said the parcel—s general address is near 50 East, 650 North and that the property has been in the owners— hands for many years with no development planned. The parcel was reviewed by the city—s Real Property Committee, which recommended acceptance of the donation.
Owners who were in attendance told the council the land is not buildable for residential use and sits just west of the site of an old reservoir; they said transferring the parcel to city ownership would be appropriate and could be useful for flood mitigation and drainage work that the city is planning for Wood Hill and adjacent areas.
Council member Jesperson moved to accept the donation and Council member Miller seconded. The council voted to accept the parcel and authorized staff to complete title work and closing; the motion passed by voice vote.
Staff will proceed with the transaction under the terms discussed and will return to the council if additional actions or budget authority are needed.
