Shawnee County announces employee open enrollment Oct. 13–26; multiple information sessions scheduled

Angela Lewis, director of administrative services for Shawnee County, announced at the Sept. 25 work session that employee open enrollment for 2026 benefits will run Oct. 13–26 and that the county will host multiple in-person sessions across county facilities to assist employees.
Lewis listed the schedule and locations: Oct. 13 at Reynolds Lodge from 1 to 3 p.m.; Oct. 14 at the Adult Detention Center (ADC) lobby from 10 to 11 a.m. and again from 1 to 2 p.m.; Oct. 15 in the courthouse classroom (basement) from 9 to 10 a.m.; Oct. 16 at the North Annex from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m.; and Oct. 17 at the Health Department from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and at the Law Enforcement Center from 1 to 3 p.m.
Lewis reminded employees that those with flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA) or dependent-care spending plans must re-enroll in the system. “If you don’t, there’s a button you can push to have what you had the previous year,” Lewis said, adding she would be available to answer questions.
No formal action was required from the board for the announcement; commissioners acknowledged the schedule and moved on to the next agenda item.
