The El Campo ISD Board of Trustees approved replacement of a cafeteria serving line for Northside at the Sept. 24 meeting, with the district to use food-service fund balance dollars to pay for the work.
Staff clarified that the agenda incorrectly referenced Myatt Elementary; the quoted work and proposal were for Northside. The project is a replacement of existing serving counters and associated systems; staff said district employees would handle electrical disconnection while the quoted contractor would remove and haul away the old counters. Staff confirmed the expense comes from the food-service fund balance and does not affect the general fund.
Trustees asked whether this is a replacement rather than an additional line; staff confirmed the work replaces the existing serving counters. The motion to approve the purchase was made by Mister Dortick and seconded by Mister Ryan; trustees voted unanimously on the motion.
Staff said the district will proceed with the vendor's scope for removal and replacement and that the work will be coordinated with campus and facilities schedules.
