Lake County commissioners hold closed session for legal advice on school-district agreement; no decisions announced

At about 12:11 p.m., the Lake County Board of County Commissioners convened a special meeting and entered an executive session to receive legal advice on a proposed intergovernmental agreement with the Lake County School District under Colorado law.
County Attorney Matthew Hobbs certified the executive session under the Colorado Revised Statutes, saying, “I as the county attorney certify the next portion of this executive session constitutes a conference with legal counsel for the purpose of receiving legal advice on the IGA with Lake County School District.” Hobbs stated the certification authorized stopping the public recording and that no record or minutes were required for that portion of the session.
The board later announced that no decisions were made during the executive session. Commissioners reconvened in public and confirmed for the record that no formal action occurred in the closed portion of the meeting.
Attendees identified during the session included three county commissioners, the county manager and county legal counsel. The commissioners left executive session and returned to the special meeting before taking other business.
The executive session was limited to receiving legal advice; the public record of the meeting notes that the county attorney certified the statutory basis for closing that portion of the meeting and that no minutes were kept for it.
