Show Low officials announce firefighter funeral processions, homecoming events and bear sightings advisory

Director Tragaszewski said funeral services for firefighter Brenna Kulikowski will take place Friday, with a procession leaving downtown Show Low at about 9:45 a.m. The procession route will proceed down the Deuce of Clubs to Clark Road to Old Linden Road and on to the high school auditorium. Funeral services for firefighter Damon Thompson will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.; a similar procession will leave downtown at about 9:45 a.m. Tragaszewski asked drivers and residents to be respectful of the processions.
Commissioner Hatch mentioned homecoming activities this week and urged residents to be safe during homecoming events; Hatch also reminded residents that the football team and both boys and girls soccer teams are active this season. Hatch and another commissioner also relayed a caution about increasing bear sightings in residential areas, noting reports from doorbell or “Ring” cameras of bears in driveways and backyards.
