Curry County commissioners reported on their attendance at the Association of Oregon Counties (AOC) District 4 meeting and described it as well attended with substantive roundtable discussions about constrained revenue and shared challenges across counties.
Commissioners said attendees discussed actionable steps for sharing services (public information, GRAMA requests, grant-writing) and coordinating on forest-related issues such as restoration and timber-agreement work with the U.S. Forest Service and the Oregon Department of Forestry. Commissioners characterized revenue shortfalls across the district as a shared problem that is increasingly limiting local service delivery.
One commissioner volunteered to serve as a liaison to continue coordination with other counties and AOC, and the board expressed support for pursuing conversations with foundations and partners to help facilitate cross-jurisdiction projects. Commissioners said they will follow up with AOC staff to sustain momentum and to explore specific shared-service pilots.
