Curry County commissioners approved an order amending Resolution 25-01 to add Euchre Creek Road to the county’s previously-declared local emergency following widespread flooding.
Staff said the road was inadvertently omitted from the original resolution listing affected roads. Adding Euchre Creek Road will formally include it in the declared emergency area and could qualify the road for relief funding for repairs.
County staff told the board they believe the county may have missed the window for federal funding but that they are pursuing options with the Oregon Department of Transportation and have alerted the county’s lobbyist to monitor for emergency funding opportunities. Staff also reported there is uncertainty about historical property-line transfers tied to an old alignment of Highway 101; the county surveyor has coordinated with ODOT surveyor Logan Miles to clarify boundary questions.
The board voted to approve the order amending Resolution 25-01. Commissioners expressed hope that partnering with ODOT and the county’s lobbyist could help secure repair funding.
