HR and operations committees review staffing, ESS rate adjustments and organizational chart; capital projects discussed

The committee reviewed the register of open positions and discussed three new or revised job descriptions: head of maintenance, HR specialist and HR manager. The committee also examined proposed updates to sidebar agreements and the ESS (external staffing services) renewal and rates; members noted a subset of professionals previously had not received rate adjustments and agreed to revise rates to improve recruitment and retention.
Board members said Mrs. Winter walked the committee through an updated organizational chart that the board described as more sustainable than prior structures. Because ESS rate and organizational-chart changes affect budget assumptions, the operations committee reviewed and endorsed the items.
Operations members also reported interviews under way for an assistant business administrator and discussed ongoing capital projects at Lamont and Lamont Annex. No formal policy changes were enacted at the meeting; committees presented their recommendations for board action on the consent agenda.
