Facilities presenter said Knutson is actively addressing final closeout items at East Ridge and responding to warranty requests. The presenter said the baseball/softball complex Phase 1 closeout documents were received and under review; Phase 2 work has foundations and underground electrical in place, underground plumbing scheduled to finish the next day, and irrigation for the practice softball field completed and operational.
The pre-K playground at CCE has completed a walkthrough with a punch list of a few corrective items, and Oak Hill Elementary’s playground equipment was being installed with safety surfacing to follow. Facilities staff said the high school and middle school addition projects are in the design-development phase and that internal design meetings had been productive.
Staff reported Park Road construction is open north and south and that access is currently available to campus areas; main closures, they said, are expected to be scheduled in summer months. Board members asked about warranty coverage for the practice field; staff said the practice field was built without sub-drain systems and will rely on surface drainage, and that typical warranty items (fencing, infield) remain covered but that drainage performance differences are expected because a sub-drain was not included.
The board also approved a change order for the baseball/softball Phase 2 to tie into a city storm-sewer structure; staff said the change order improves site function and the city preferred that connection. The change order amount approved by the board was $6,738.57.
No further approvals were requested of the board during that report aside from the change order; staff said they will continue to monitor warranty items and schedule closures in coordination with the district.
