The Waukesha Plan Commission unanimously approved a minor site plan and architectural review on Sept. 24 for façade renovations at 375 West Main Street.
Staff presented plans to remove existing metal panels and a fabric canopy, install red composite panels on the second level and a brick veneer at the street level, replace storefront windows and replace both doors. The project includes adding a decorative composite cap and corbels at the roofline and refurbishing an existing metal awning with new lighting. Staff recommended approval with the conditions that the color temperature of new lighting not exceed 4,000 K and that a window be added to the second-floor door to provide interior light and transparency.
A project representative told commissioners the applicant had no objection to adding the window. Commissioners praised the proposed improvements as beneficial to the streetscape. The motion to approve included all staff comments and passed unanimously.
