City auditor presents performance-metrics audit; grass-cutting audit underway

Rovalski said the audit compared departmental practices to guidance from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) on budgeting and performance measures and provided recommendations for better alignment. He added that the grass-cutting audit is underway and progressing.
Council members asked follow-up questions about how departments record performance data and whether larger departments like police and fire aligned better with best practices. Rovalski said large departments generally have more robust practices while smaller departments have room for improvement. He suggested regrouping with department leadership to determine next steps.
