Bartlesville Planning Commission elects Andy Dossett chair; vice chair selected

Bartlesville — The City of Bartlesville Planning Commission elected Commissioner Andy Dossett as chair and filled the vice chair vacancy during the commission’s regular meeting.

Chairing the meeting, the acting chair called for nominations. Commissioner Sarah Freeman nominated Andy Dossett for chair; the nomination was seconded. After brief discussion and an affirmative roll call, all members present voted aye and Dossett was elected chair. The commission then filled the vice chair vacancy created when the former vice chair’s term ended; a commissioner self-nominated for the position and was elected by a unanimous roll call vote.

Commission staff and members noted the change in leadership follows the end of former Chair John Kane’s term. Commissioners also welcomed two new commissioners, Siobhan Robles (executive director, West Side Community Center) and Wyatt Girth (instructor at Tri-County Tech), and introduced Amanda Yamaguchi as the city’s new senior planner; Yamaguchi was described as coming to Bartlesville from the city of Broken Arrow. The commission’s rules require officers to be elected every January; staff said the newly elected officers will serve until the next scheduled officer elections.

The elections occurred during regular board business with no public comment and no recorded opposition. Roll-call votes were unanimous for both positions.
