The Richmond advisory board approved a motion on Sept. 24 to reschedule the October meeting from Wednesday, Oct. 22, to Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m., and to move the November and December meetings from the fourth to the third Wednesday of those months (Nov. 19 and Dec. 17).
The board also approved the minutes from its June 25 meeting by voice vote earlier in the evening. Both actions passed by voice vote with "aye" and no recorded opposition.
What the board approved - Minutes: The minutes of the June 25 meeting were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; no corrections or additions were recorded during the meeting. (Mover/second not recorded in the transcript.) - Meeting schedule: A motion to move the October meeting to Oct. 29 at 5:30 p.m. and to set the November and December meetings on the third Wednesday of those months was moved and seconded, and passed by voice vote. The motion as adopted sets November on Nov. 19 and December on Dec. 17.
Why it matters The schedule change gives the board an additional week before the October meeting deadline and aligns November and December meetings with earlier notifications the board had sent to the media. Staff said they will send the updated schedule and will provide paper copies of materials to any member who requests them.
Meeting procedure notes The transcript records motions, seconds and voice votes but does not record names for the members who moved or seconded the two motions. The chair called the votes and announced "motion carried" after each voice vote. Staff agreed to distribute meeting materials electronically and to provide hard copies to members who ask.
