Commission authorizes transfer of parks maintenance building title to city

The commission voted 5-0 to authorize a quitclaim deed transferring title of the new Parks Maintenance Building at 610 E. Plymouth Ave. from the redevelopment commission to the City of Goshen.
The Goshen Redevelopment Commission on Sept. 9 approved Resolution 24-2025 authorizing the transfer of title for the Parks Maintenance Building at 610 East Plymouth Avenue to the City of Goshen, by a 5-0 vote.
Becky Hetzel, redevelopment director, explained the building was constructed on real estate presently held in the name of the redevelopment commission because the commission participated in the project. “Now the construction is complete, we are asking, recommending that the title to the real estate be transferred to the city of Goshen,” Hetzel said. The resolution authorizes the commission president and secretary to execute a quitclaim deed to effectuate the transfer.
Commission discussion was limited to congratulatory remarks about the facility. No financial encumbrances or liens were reported on the record during the discussion. The motion to authorize execution of the quitclaim deed passed 5 to 0.
The executed deed and related closing documents will be the official record of the transfer once completed.
