Goshen redevelopment commission approves modified geothermal easement for Cherry Creek development

Redevelopment director Becky Hetzel said the developer revised its plan after the commission’s August meeting, opting for vertical wells installed between the condominium buildings and the retention pond rather than the coil system previously proposed beneath the pond. “This revised approach will help ensure that future maintenance of the system does not interfere with the development's overall drainage system,” Hetzel said.
The change follows earlier approval of an easement request for the same project. Hetzel told commissioners a copy of the revised easement document was included in the meeting packet. Commissioners moved and seconded the resolution; the commission recorded the motion as passed 5 to 0.
The commission did not discuss further technical specifications of the revised geothermal design during the public portion of the meeting, and no other legal authorities or state approvals were cited on the record. The action transfers only the modified easement rights described in the resolution; no additional changes to the development agreement were announced at the meeting.
