The Greenwood Economic Development Commission voted to approve payment of $1,107.23 for a half‑page advertisement in the Aspire Economic Development and Chamber Alliance 2025 business guide, the commission heard at its September meeting.
The ad invoice is dated July 27; Greg Wright, a city staff member who presented the item, said, “The 2025 business guide cost is $1,107.23.” Wright asked that the finance department pay the invoice from the commission’s promotional budget line. Chair called for a motion; the commission voted in favor and the item passed.
The vote occurred after Wright explained the request and its customary funding source. Wright said the commission has been asked in prior years to fund the half‑page placement. A motion to approve payment was made and seconded; commissioners present voted to approve the invoice.
Commissioners present at the roll call were Grennan, Spindler, Snell and Merrill. The chair announced the motion as passed following the voice vote.
The commission did not adopt any additional restrictions or directives tied to the payment during the discussion. The finance department will process the payment from the commission’s promotional budget line as requested.
