The Hammond City Council approved execution of a $927,793 construction agreement with Milestone Contractors LP for resurfacing the Erie Lackawanna Trail, city staff said at the meeting.
Dean Button, who submitted the correspondence to the board, told members the board had previously met and awarded the contract and the funding allocation for the project, and staff asked for approval to execute the agreement. “This board met, earlier, and awarded the contract and the funding allocation for this project. So the funding's already been approved as I'm sure you remember. Yes. So we'd ask for your approval to execute the agreement,” Button said.
The board president recommended approval and a second member concurred; the board approved execution of the construction agreement so the city can move forward with resurfacing work.
No additional funding appropriation was requested during the discussion; staff indicated the funding allocation had been approved at an earlier action and the current vote authorized execution of the contract with Milestone Contractors LP.
