Hendersonville High supporters win board OK for outfield and bullpen signage

The Hendersonville Parks Board approved a request from Hendersonville High School’s dugout club on Sept. 22 to place sponsorship signage on Field 3 and selected bullpen and bleacher areas.

Jamie Mosley and Derek Pedigo, representing the Hendersonville High School dugout club, told the board they wanted larger signage than the small dugout tags historically sold and described interest from parents and local businesses. Mosley said the club has sold small dugout tags for more than a decade and has previously sold more than 30 tags per year; there is now interest in larger-format signs to help fund the program.

Board members asked whether the proposed signs would conflict with current sponsors such as Full Count and whether display timelines would interfere with other uses. Mosley clarified there are three sign types in the proposal: outfield signage, bullpen signage (longer banners) and foul-pole sponsorships. He said the club sought a display period broadly described as Sept. 1 through May 31 (the packet also referenced 9-month display periods). Mosley said some prospective sponsors had already inquired and that the club had ample local interest.

Why it matters: The sponsorships would raise funds for the high-school baseball program and change the look of Field 3; the board asked staff to ensure signage fits park aesthetic rules and does not displace existing permits.

Board action and next steps: The board approved the proposal by voice vote. Parks staff will confirm final sign dimensions, placement and an exact display timeline; applicants must provide sign specs and insurance. Staff also noted Full Count’s season (June–July) and that the club’s requested sign timeline should avoid conflicts with Full Count’s displays.
