Housing staff secure HUD allotment; council committee advances land‑use and rental‑registration work

Crystal, a housing staff member, told the committee that Chapter 216 rental‑inspection subsections (2166, 2167 and 2168) were distributed and that landlord registration of rental units has increased, with the registration process available online and completed annually. Crystal said a HUD allotment had been secured (reported the prior week) and that additional housing initiatives and CVPD grants may start soon.
The committee said the land‑use plan is being prepared and that an internal stakeholders meeting was scheduled for the next day to review potential changes. The zoning and comprehensive plan draft is progressing and staff said it will be published for public feedback in the near future.
