Lewiston council amends comprehensive plan to require groundwater considerations

The Lewiston City Council on Sept. 22 approved Resolution 2025-21 to amend the city's comprehensive plan to add language requiring planners to consider the effect of plan changes on groundwater quantity, quality and source.
Assistant City Planner Katie Hollingshead told the council the change reflects a new requirement in state law and that the amendment would insert the statutory language into two places in the city's comprehensive plan. "The amendment that is in front of you tonight is to add that specifically to our comprehensive plan," Hollingshead said.
