Sandy (Council member) thanked residents who submitted comments and said she appreciated their involvement, but said she believed the application met the standards of approval.
Tom (Council member) said he sympathized with neighbors but was constrained by the standards the council must apply. "You're asking for this council to take away that landowner's right to develop this property," Tom said, describing his decision as driven by the legal standards the council must follow.
Council members discussed traffic impact analyses and tree-removal concerns raised in public comments. One council member referenced multiple traffic impact analyses on record, and another asked staff to explore ways to ease traffic impacts going forward. The council did not adopt additional conditions beyond those recommended by staff but indicated constituent concerns would inform future traffic-related conversations.
A motion to approve PZE-25-0043, the Woodman Subdivision preliminary plat, with staff-recommended conditions carried on roll call. The council recorded the following votes: Council member DePreece — yes; Council member White — yes; Council President Rotor — yes; Council member Schaeffer — yes.
