Planning commission receives three master-plan comments on Oak Street extension; staff reports two administrative site-plan approvals

The Mount Pleasant Planning Commission on Aug. 11 received three communications opposing a proposed extension of Oak Street into Island Park and instructed staff to include those letters in the packet for the City Commission, which will take final action on the master plan amendments.

Planning staff said the three letters were placed in the Planning Commission packet and will be shared with the City Commission when it considers adoption of the master-plan amendments. No motion or separate action was taken by the planning commission on the communications; staff characterized the letters as part of the public record and noted they would accompany the matter to the City Commission for final consideration.

In administrative reports, planning staff said two site-plan reviews were approved administratively on Aug. 11: SPR-25-13 (1820 South Crawford, Building H — the applicant, Severn Group, added two means of egress/stairs to an existing campus building) and SPR-25-14 (1904 South Mission Street — Krieger Clatt Architects’ remodel of an existing Buffalo Wild Wings, including enclosure of an existing frontage patio and facade improvements to meet the zoning ordinance). Staff provided the project addresses and the approving dates but did not provide additional substantive conditions in the meeting report.

There were no public comments at the meeting and no emails related to public comment were received during the live session, staff said.
