At its September meeting the Vigo County Area Plan Commission approved a series of minor and major subdivision plats and took one item under advisement.
Approvals recorded in the meeting transcript included:
- Randall Tucker Subdivision (minor primary): 1 new lot of 1.041 acres from a 58.8‑acre parent tract at 7475 South Dearborn Street; staff recommended favorable action contingent on recording within 90 days. A petitioner present said, "It was a farm. We bought the farm. This was a house that we're trying to divide off and sell it." (Transcript: petitioner statement.)
- Blue Oaks Subdivision (major primary/secondary): property commonly associated with 1856 North Bolton Road in West Terre Haute; staff provided a favorable recommendation with conditions including recording the plat within 90 days and minor corrections to the plat.
- R & B Thomas Estates (major secondary): creation of one new lot of 0.85 acres accessed by McDaniel Road; staff recommended approval contingent on recording and submitting a road maintenance plan.
- Graham & Cunningham (major secondary): replatted portion of Dyes Addition in Sealyville to create 18 residential lots (6.12 acres); staff recommended approval with conditions including bonding and utility easement location corrections; the town board of Sealyville will decide whether to accept dedication of the new roads.
- Secondary subdivision for property rezoned previously to accommodate commercial development by Steamfitters Local 157 (referred to in staff report as Local 157/Steamfitters Local 157): staff recommended approval with conditions including bonding, county engineering review, a stormwater management plan, and FAA Form 7460‑1 filing because the property falls within a 65 DNL noise contour of the Terre Haute regional airport.
The Foster Subdivision (docket 65) was tabled to allow the petitioner to resolve setback issues. For the approved plats, staff repeatedly noted the approvals were contingent on recording the plat within 90 days and meeting listed conditions such as health department review, road or infrastructure bonding, or minor plat corrections.
Commissioners moved and approved the listed plats; the transcript notes "motion passes" for each approved item but does not include roll call tallies.
