Policy board approves INDOT request to amend 2026–2030 TIP, adding and updating highway and bridge projects

The Tippecanoe County MPO Policy Board on Sept. 11 approved Resolution T25-13, an Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) request to amend the 2026–2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).
MPO staff described the amendment as unusually large. The packet lists 24 existing projects being updated and 11 new projects affecting multiple corridors in the county: two projects on State Road 26, three on State Road 28, four on State Road 38, nine on US 52 (including special US 52 entries), 13 on I‑65, one on State Road 225 and three district‑wide projects. Work types include traffic signal modernization, thin deck overlays, bridge preservation (including superstructure replacements and removals), ditch corrections, auxiliary lanes at rural intersections, bicycle and pedestrian facility work and pavement marking repairs.
Staff noted two larger projects among the list: a combined project on Sagamore Parkway in West Lafayette and a State Road 225 project with an estimated construction cost of $7,000,000. The Technical Transportation Committee reviewed the amendment prior to the policy board meeting.
After the presentation the board conducted a roll-call vote and approved Resolution T25-13.
