MPO policy board approves updated memorandum of agreement with Carroll County for CERB planning work

The Tippecanoe County MPO Policy Board on Sept. 11 approved an updated memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Carroll County to provide planning services under the INDOT CERB small urban and rural planning program.
The MOA formalizes work the MPO has done for Carroll County since the original agreement dated February 2011, MPO staff said. Under the arrangement, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will cover 80% of the costs for the MPO’s planning work for Carroll County and Carroll County will provide a 20% local match. MPO staff said those funds are separate from the MPO’s RPL funds and will not reduce Tippecanoe County planning funds.
Tim (MPO staff) described the scope as primarily traffic count data collection with a few additional planning tasks. Mayor Roswarski and other board members asked for clarification that the work would not affect Tippecanoe County’s planning funds; Tim confirmed it would not. After brief discussion the board moved to authorize the president of the policy board (Mayor Roswarski) to sign the agreement once Carroll County completes its signatures.
The board voted by roll call to approve the MOA. Erin Easter, Tom Murtaugh, Gary Schroeder, Steve Snyder, Larry Leverence, Cindy Murray, Mike Gibson and Deb Calder recorded aye votes; the memorandum was approved.
