Soil and Water Conservation District outlines student contest and grant applications

Simpson said education coordinator Julie Lier has applied for at least six grants, including projects focused on the Pigeon Creek Watershed, Coffee Scott Watershed, a CWI grant, a LIRA grant for reclaimed mine land in the Pigeon Creek Watershed, and a forestry grant to support citizen forestry education in Gibson County.
The presenter asked commissioners to note the outreach and education efforts; no formal county funding request was presented during the report.
