She told the district that she was drawn to Mary Chapa Academy’s “legacy of opportunity and resilience” and said her priorities include strengthening arts integration, expanding social-emotional supports and continuing to develop a high-quality instructional program.
“I am bilingual in Spanish and English,” Principal Baina said, adding that the language skills will help her connect with families. She also said she is a parent and that she enjoys outdoor activities.
Cortez closed the segment by welcoming Baina and noting the district looks forward to the principal’s leadership at the site.
