Delaware County Intermediate Unit programs, LPN track and facilities work outlined to Chester‑Upland board

"Good evening. DCIU is up and running. Absolutely. You know about the childcare. They've been working with the facilities for Markel Markel and, Fallcroft," McLaren said. She noted DCIU's licensed practical nursing (LPN) program has admissions twice a year and that participants can obtain an LPN license in 12 months. "If you're interested, I think you should check it out. You could go on their website. You could call it DCIU. ... you could have your LPN license in 12 months," she said.
McLaren said DCIU will start another project at Fallcroft after current work is completed and encouraged interested community members to contact DCIU for enrollment information. She also said members of the district board and the superintendent plan to attend the Pennsylvania School Boards Association conference in the Poconos.
Later in the meeting a board member asked a question about Perkins and CTE offerings on the agenda (items described in the transcript as "3 to a 7"). The board member asked whether the listed CTE programs were new to students or already available. A staff response in the meeting said they are existing programs or additions to current programs. "Yeah. They are, existing programs or, additions to current programs that we have," the respondent said.
