Agenda and minutes: The board approved the meeting agenda as published with two corrections (removal of item 17 to the next meeting so Mr. Kaufman could be present for a tribute, and moving a second closed session immediately after item 8). The approval passed on roll call. The board also approved minutes (with an amendment noted in the record) by motion and roll call.
Claims and nonclaims: The board approved payment of current claims in the amount of $1,174,313.65 (accounts payable) and accepted nonclaims check registers dated 09/05/2025 ($273,570.34) and 09/12/2025 ($574,959.82). The claims and registers were approved on roll calls recorded in open session.
Appointments and boards: The board appointed Vicky Kipp (Republican nomination) to a board-of-canvassers seat whose term begins 11/01/2025 and appointed Christine Chickrell (Democratic nomination) to the other seat; alternates and terms were noted. The board also accepted a resignation and approved additions to the Monroe County monumentation/remonumentation peer group (two new members and acceptance of one resignation). These appointments passed on roll call votes.
Consent agenda and other routine business: The board approved a consent agenda that included contract extensions and vendor payments listed in the packet (American Planning Association registration, Gordon Food Service Inc., Mercy Memorial Hospital pre-employment testing, Michigan State University quarterly contractual extension services, Tri Tech Software Systems maintenance for central dispatch). A roll call was recorded for the consent agenda.
