Commissioners briefed on one-year extension of state-funded youth services pass-through

County staff briefed the Natrona County Board of County Commissioners about a contract amendment that extends a state-funded program for one additional year and is administered by the county as a pass-through to two local subgrantees.
A county staff member told the commissioners that the contract is the single state-required arrangement that must run through county commissioners for the particular program and that a 2022 change in state routing made the county the administrative recipient. The staff member said the Department of Family Services added a second year to the existing fiscal-year-25 contract to create an FY26 amendment rather than requiring an entirely new application. “There has been no change because the funding has been static,” the staff member said, adding that “nothing in the budgets have changed. Nothing in the allocations have changed.”
The staff member identified the two current subgrantees as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Climb Wyoming and stated the county’s role is administrative; the county does not contribute additional county funds. The board asked only clarifying questions and had no objections recorded at the time of the briefing.
