Albany County approves lease amendment, solar contracts, grants and multiple projects

The Albany County Board of County Commissioners on Aug. 1 approved a package of leases, contracts and grant applications, including a revised commercial lease for Disruptive MedTech LLC, solar project awards, federal grant applications for planning and safety studies, and multiple county contracts.

Key approvals and votes at a glance

- Disruptive MedTech LLC lease (3821 Beech Street): Commissioners approved a commercial lease amendment as revised by the county attorney that clarifies maintenance and repair responsibilities and updates renewal terms. The board also approved a U.S. DOT Safe Streets and Roads for All grant agreement for $1,120,000 to create an evidence‑based safety action plan through June 30, 2028; the city will provide a $160,000 match and the county $120,000 per staff presentation.

- Final acceptance and payments: Commissioners accepted final completion of the Road & Bridge yard slide gate project and authorized advertisement for final payment of $3,159.50 to SWI Inc.; final contract cost was $63,190.58.

- Other contracts and awards: The board approved an energy retrofit grant contract with the Wyoming Energy Authority for $50,000 for courthouse lighting replacements; extended an inmate medical and mental health services agreement with CoreHealth to allow more time for negotiations with a new bidder; ratified an annual equitable sharing agreement with the Drug Enforcement Administration; awarded vehicle purchases and trade‑ins to Fremont Motors for sheriff's vehicles; and approved a memorandum of understanding with the City of Laramie for mosquito surveillance services ($6,589.20 through Dec. 31, 2025).
