The Natrona County Board of County Commissioners approved a set of routine and contested items during its meeting, including a retail liquor license transfer, adoption of an indigent and unclaimed burial/cremation policy, and a planning variance.
Liquor license transfer approved
The board voted to approve the transfer of a full retail liquor license for the business at 1910 Talc Road from BFS Official LLC (doing business as Luxe) to TNT Property Enterprises (doing business as Peyton). The applicant, Ted Thompson, said he was under contract to purchase the property and that the business employs 15 people. Tamara Stenhaug identified herself as the proposed manager and described operating hours.
The motion to approve the license transfer passed by voice vote with the board saying “aye.” (Motion maker and second were not specified on the public record.)
Indigent and unclaimed burial/cremation policy adopted
The board adopted the Natrona County indigent and unclaimed burial/cremation policy and application. County staff and the coroner had worked on revisions in advance of the hearing; County Attorney staff reported that changes requested at prior meetings had been made. Commissioner Laird moved to adopt the policy; Commissioner Coates seconded the motion. The board approved it by voice vote.
Zoning variance granted for light-industrial lot (VC25-02)
The board approved a variance request (VC25-02) from Ginsbach Construction on behalf of the property owner for a reduced setback in a light-industrial zoning district at 1501 Scenic Drive. The requested 10-foot setback would be measured from a residential property line; planning staff said the lot already contained a building closer than the 100-foot setback and that a utility pole and existing traffic paths constrained other options.
Commissioner Nicklaus moved to grant VC25-02, incorporating staff findings of fact; Commissioner Laird seconded. The board approved the variance.
Consent agenda
The board also approved its consent agenda, which the commission moved and passed without recorded opposition.
What the votes mean
- The liquor license transfer allows the business at 1910 Talc Road to continue retail sales under new ownership/management. The applicant said the transfer would preserve 15 jobs. - The indigent-burial policy creates a county process and application for county assistance with burial or cremation of indigent or unclaimed decedents; staff said the policy had been revised after prior discussion with the coroner. - The zoning variance permits a structure to be placed nearer a residential property line than the zoning code’s standard setback; planning staff said the lot’s existing conditions and a nearby power pole made other placements infeasible.
No recorded dissent was registered on any of these votes in the meeting minutes and each motion passed by voice vote.
