The presenter said Thompson Construction is pushing to complete the site so that occupants can return by December if schedules hold; staff noted some remaining work on old gym spaces and terrazzo repairs.
The committee heard a program-level construction update that included South Terrebonne Middle School pile driving and foundation work, with about a month of schedule lag attributed to rain delays; the contractor reported work to achieve a concrete foundation by November if weather allows. Discussion touched on enrollment trends and local flood-insurance pressures affecting community decisions, and staff noted the availability of some private flood insurance options on the state insurance-commissioner website.
Several of these items were moved by committee motion and recommended to the full board for final acceptance or acknowledgement as appropriate; staff will continue to report progress and punch-list completion dates to the committee.
