The recommendations that came to the full board were: approve extended facility usage agreements for use of the Benton High School softball facility with fee adjustments recommended by staff; approve an extended facility usage agreement for Airline High School’s auditorium for Jehovah’s Witnesses religious events in October 2025 and a February event (date not specified in the committee report); approve a lease extension for the Arc of Acadiana at the property listed in the meeting record through Feb. 28, 2026 and authorize the superintendent to sign related documents (the committee recommended this be the last extension); and authorize staff to proceed with an individual project at Benton Intermediate School funded by Benton Intermediate School.
Committee motions were made by Glenn Bullard, Logan McConathy and others, and the committee reported unanimous votes (5–0) on each recommendation. The full board then voted to adopt the committee recommendations; President Newman called for the electronic and vocal votes and recorded no opposition.
Regarding the lease extension, the committee report specified the tenant as Arc of Acadiana and listed the extension end date of Feb. 28, 2026. Committee members additionally noted that the district intends this to be the last extension on that lease. For the Benton Intermediate item, the committee motion described the funding source as Benton Intermediate School; the meeting record provided limited detail about the precise scope of the project.
