The Livingston Parish Council on Aug. 28 adopted a resolution authorizing the parish president to sign and submit a grant application to the Delta Regional Authority’s Community Infrastructure Fund for the Denham Heights Sewer Lift Station project.
The lift station project is intended to provide community sewer service to the Denham Heights subdivision and the surrounding area; parish staff described the area as being caught between the jurisdictional boundaries of the local sewer district and the city of Denham Springs. The resolution authorizes filing the application; council members noted the grant is competitive and not assured.
The motion carried unanimously. Parish staff said the lift station would provide the necessary infrastructure to support residential sewer service and help stimulate economic growth in the area if awarded funding. No award decision was reported at the meeting; staff said the grant would be competitive and follow Delta Regional Authority timelines.
